Historic downtown Phoenix venue for events and celebrations302 W Monroe St., Phoenix, AZ

Monroe Street Abbey is an event venue in a former church in downtown Phoenix. Built in 1929 as First Baptist Church, the building served as a church until the 1970s, then suffered severe fire damage in 1984 before years of preservation work brought it back. Today it hosts gatherings and celebrations in a garden courtyard open to the sky, framed by living trees and the original century-old walls, along with an indoor gallery space and a loft overlooking the courtyard.
An in-house hospitality team, led by Steve and Kristine Short, handles the food and beverage for each event, serving fresh, seasonal cuisine with gracious bar service. The building has elevators, stairways, restrooms and a commercial kitchen on site. Event inquiries are taken through the venue's contact page or by phone, and open houses are offered for anyone who wants to see the space before booking.
