Philadelphia Furniture Workshop

Philadelphia Furniture Workshop is a woodworking school offering classes for everyone from beginners to serious amateurs. Its course list covers project-based classes, narrower classes on individual tools or techniques, and foundational courses for new woodworkers, along with design and build classes and advanced courses for aspiring cabinetmakers and furniture makers.

Classes are kept small and taught by experienced furniture makers. Popular offerings include a ladderback chair build, a traditional Japanese andon lamp and a three-leg hand tool stool, and many courses include all materials in the fee. The school is at 5212 Pulaski Avenue in Philadelphia, and gift cards are available.
