Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International that builds new homes and repairs existing ones with families in need of affordable housing. Its work includes a homeownership program with a thirty-year affordable mortgage for households earning 30 to 80 percent of area median income, and a home repair program with income-based sliding-scale loans. Families contribute sweat equity by working alongside staff and volunteers on sites or at the ReStore.

The main office is at 1829 N 19th St in Philadelphia, with a second office at 2318 Washington Ave. Donated household goods and building materials can be dropped off at the ReStore, and volunteers can join individual or group build days. The organization is a nonprofit that also sends a portion of its donations to Habitat's global tithe program.
