Conservation and preservation services for paper, books and collections264 South 23rd Street, Philadelphia, PA
The Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts is a nonprofit conservation and preservation facility that has worked on cultural heritage since 1977. Its conservators repair and stabilize books, photographs, works of art on paper, and documents, and the staff also handles digitization, framing, fundraising assistance and collections planning.
Clients range from private individuals with a damaged family scrapbook to large museums and volunteer-run historical societies. Much of the preservation work happens in the field, with workshops, long-range preservation plans, collections surveys and disaster plans for institutions across the country. The paper conservation lab is in Philadelphia at 264 South 23rd Street, and the organization also lists an office in New York City.
