About Evening Sun Fly Shop

The story

Evening Sun Fly Shop sells fly fishing rods, reels and boots, including lines from Hardy, Ross, Thomas & Thomas and Lampson, plus Korkers boots. Owner Charlie Shadan teaches fly tying, nymph fishing and fly fishing, and runs guided trips. The shop also restores bamboo rods, a service handled by Pat Perkins.

The shop is on Groton Street in Pepperell and is open Wednesday through Friday afternoons and on weekend days. Charlie also builds custom kits, fly collections and training schedules for individuals, groups and towns, and knows more than 50 area rivers and streams. Charlie has announced his retirement, and the shop will close over the next six to eight months, so current stock is on sale with an added incentive for cash purchases.
