Jon G's Barbecue

Jon G's Barbecue in Peachland, NC smokes Texas-inspired barbecue, with brisket, pulled pork, spare ribs, turkey and bacon burnt ends sold by the half pound or pound. The Porky Brewster, a sandwich of brisket and pork with Fritos and slaw on a bun, is one of the house favorites. The business started as a food truck and opened its restaurant in June 2020, run by Garren "Jon G" and Kelly Kirkman.

Catering was most of the business before the restaurant opened and remains a big part of it, with platters of meats and sides for events. Sides like mac and cheese, brown sugar smoked beans and jalapeño cheese grits are sold by the pint, quart or half pan. The restaurant is open Saturdays, and gift cards are available. Regulars often line up early, so plan ahead on busy days.
