Otanis Seafood

Otani's Seafood is a family-owned seafood restaurant in downtown Oxnard that serves Japanese-style seafood with a Mexican twist. Many dishes still follow homemade recipes from founder Izuto "Izzy" Otani, and the sauces, batters and chowders are made fresh from scratch each day. The restaurant also runs a fish market selling much of the same seafood, including red snapper, ahi tuna, mahi-mahi, halibut and scallops.

The menu is available for dine-in or takeout, and orders usually take 10 to 15 minutes. Online and phone orders are accepted, and the restaurant offers curbside service through its mobile app. Special orders for the market need only a few days' notice. The restaurant sits at 608 S. A Street in downtown Oxnard, and the family has run it since the 1950s.
