Velvet Monkey Salon

Velvet Monkey Salon is a hair salon with a creative streak, known for color work such as balayage, ombre, color blocking and fantasy color. Cuts range from clipper cuts and kids' haircuts to blowouts, updos and braids, and the salon also offers Brazilian blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions and facial waxing. Local artists show their work on the salon walls, and a vintage shop runs in the back.

There are two locations, one at the Plaza and one at 63rd. Nail services are offered at the Plaza, while the 63rd location offers therapeutic massage, eyebrow threading and eyebrow tinting or henna. The salon holds an annual fashion show and is looking for new creative stylists to join the team.
