Barnacle Billy's

Barnacle Billy's is a landmark seafood restaurant in Perkins Cove, known for boiled lobster with drawn butter, a specialty since it opened in 1961. The menu covers Maine lobster rolls, lobster stew, clam chowder, steamed clams and lobster salad rolls, with barbecue chicken and hamburgers for anyone who wants something else. The house drink is its rum punch.

The companion restaurant, Barnacle Billy's, Etc., offers full table service and a broader menu that includes bacon-wrapped scallops, swordfish and steaks, with patio seating overlooking heirloom gardens. Neither restaurant takes reservations, so seating is first come, first served. Both run seasonally from spring into autumn, and the indoor rooms and sundeck look out over the cove toward the Atlantic.
