Brother's Keeper

Brother's Keeper is the social service outreach ministry of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Ocala, serving the poor and homeless since the early 1970s. Its soup kitchen serves a lunch meal every day of the year, including Christmas and Easter, and its emergency services offer short-term help to people who need a hand up.

The thrift store sells donated furniture, appliances, household goods, clothing and books, and those sales cover the group's overhead, so donations go directly to people in need. Most of the people it serves are not members of the church. Rental assistance for homeless prevention and rapid rehousing has its own eligibility requirements. Volunteers can help for a single day or on a regular schedule, and the ministry is located on Northwest 10th Street in Ocala.
