Newtown Presbyterian Church

The Preschool at Newtown Presbyterian Church is a program for 3- and 4-year-old children that has run since 1996. Its curriculum is woven through art and music, so each child's artwork builds up over the school year into a daily reminder of what they have learned. Teachers aim for academic, social, and emotional growth alongside that creative work.

Children attend a morning or afternoon session, and the 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes run on different schedules. A Lunch Bunch option lets families extend the day: morning students can stay until 2:00 p.m., and afternoon students can be dropped off at 10:30 a.m. Children bring their own lunch for music, games and projects, at $18 a day. Jill Mahle heads the staff, which includes four teacher aides, and families can reach her by phone to ask about enrollment.
