The Newnan-Coweta History Center runs the McRitchie-Hollis Museum, a 1937 Neoclassical house at 74 Jackson Street that tells the story of Newnan and Coweta County. The collection was built from public donations, and the museum is known for its festive events, including the Oak Hill Cemetery tours at dusk and the Ghosts & Ghouls Ball. The center is a registered nonprofit that relies on memberships and donations.
Museum visits are by guided or self-guided tour, and walk-ins are welcomed on tour days or you can call ahead for an appointment. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Parking is available in the lot behind the museum off Clark Street. Members get early access to event tickets and free research assistance.
