Meyer The Hatter

Meyer The Hatter is a hat store that calls itself the South's largest, selling fedoras, panamas, pork pies, Western styles and caps from brands such as Bailey, Stetson, Wallaroo and City Sport. The shop also carries hats for women and a line of hat care products.

The store has been run by the Meyer family since 1894, when Sam H. Meyer opened it as Meyer's Hat Box, and it moved to its current address in 1937. Staff fit hats in person, and the shop ships orders across the continental US, with free shipping on orders over $299. It is on Saint Charles Avenue in downtown New Orleans, a few blocks from the Central Business District hotels.
