FARMER'S: An Everyday Farmstop

Farmer's is a daily, year-round market in Bayou Saint John where small, local farms sell directly to shoppers. The shelves carry meat and seafood, dairy and eggs, bakery items, produce, beverages, plants, pantry goods and home goods, with prepared food made in house and a selection of products from other local makers. The store describes itself as a return to neighborhood grocery shopping, where you can know your butcher and the people who grew your food.

Farmers set their own prices and keep 70% of each sale, and the store sells the goods of many local producers, including Akaushi wagyu raised on the founders' family farm in Poplarville, Mississippi. It is located at 519 Hagan Avenue in New Orleans, with hours Monday through Saturday and a shorter Sunday schedule. Thanksgiving preorders were open at the time of the site's last update.
