Advocacy and family support for people with developmental disabilities601 Terrace Street, Suite 101, Muskegon, MI

The Arc of the Lakeshore is a local chapter of The Arc, a national organization that advocates for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. It focuses on advocacy, education and family support, helping people work through housing, schooling, employment, recreation, access to services and legal questions. Financial services such as legacy planning, pooled trust and representative payee services are also part of its work.
The group serves its local communities by pushing for change in schools and government and by working with individuals and families one case at a time. Visitors can ask an advocate for help when they are not sure where to start. Office hours are weekdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Terrace Street office in Muskegon. Members, volunteers and donors support the work through annual events and contributions.
