Moorhead Dairy Queen

Moorhead Dairy Queen is a downtown fixture that has served soft serve, Blizzards and hot food since 1949, when Bob and Phyllis Litherland founded the store. Blizzards have been on the menu since 1985, and the Buster Bars and Dilly Bars are hand-dipped. The kitchen also makes its own barbecue sandwiches and chili, served in a cup or on chili cheese dogs, along with Orange Julius drinks and Misty Slush Freezes.

Owners Troy and Diane DeLeon carry on the Litherlands' approach of tasty food at a fair price in a family-friendly setting. The store runs seasonally from March 1 through the end of October, when the walk-up window opens, and is open daily into the evening. Custom cakes and celebration treats can be ordered, and the team caters events large and small. The store is at 24 South 8th Street in downtown Moorhead.
