Consolidated Rail Corporation

Consolidated Rail Corporation, known as Conrail, is a local freight rail service provider. It moves customers' freight shipments between their rail sidings and the long-distance trains operated by CSX and Norfolk Southern, working along the lines it serves. Shippers and receivers rely on it as the local link to the national rail network, while CSX and Norfolk Southern handle the commercial matters for those customers.

Customers along Conrail's lines can reach the national network through either railway. Shippers can find service advisories, a shipper safety handbook, winter guidelines and customer representatives for their questions. The company is headquartered in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Anyone who needs to report a crossing malfunction, accident, blocked track or trespassing is asked to use its emergency line.
