Metairie HealthCare Center

Metairie HealthCare Center provides skilled nursing and rehabilitation for patients recovering from illness, injury or surgery, along with long-term care for residents who need permanent placement. Its rehabilitation program offers physical, occupational and speech therapy up to six days a week in a separate space set up to resemble everyday activities at home. A secure unit called Serenity Trace cares for people living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.

Short-term transitional stays help patients regain independence and return home, and families take part in training, conferences and discharge planning. On-site services include IV therapy, wound care, laboratory work and in-house X-rays. Rooms include semi-private suites, and the center accepts Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, private insurance and private pay. It has served Jefferson Parish since 1976 and is located on Riverside Drive in Metairie, Louisiana.
