The Local Cup

The Local Cup is a neighborhood coffee shop that roasts its own coffee in-house and pairs it with baked goods made fresh daily. The menu covers espresso drinks like lattes, cortados and flat whites, cold brew and nitro cold brew, pour-over and Chemex coffee, and a long list of loose-leaf teas and chai. Gluten-free muffins and Belgian waffles are among the baked options, and a savory breakfast sandwich is available if you arrive early.

The shop is on Chamberlayne Road in Mechanicsville, and it is set up for lingering, with seating for laptops or a good book. Coffee subscriptions are offered for three months at a time, and the owners are glad to help first-time visitors who are overwhelmed by the options. Hours run Monday through Saturday, and the shop is closed on Sundays.
