Manitou Springs Penny Arcade

Manitou Springs Penny Arcade is a downtown venue with more than 400 coin-operated video, pinball and mechanical machines, some more than a century old. The eight-building arcade also has pool tables, kiddie rides, photo booths, skee-ball and Horse Derby, a 12-horse race game made in England. The snack bar serves paninis, smoothies, lemonade and limeade, and British 99 ice cream.

Bring quarters or buy a Surprise Bag, which holds quarters, toys, candy and coupons. There is one ATM on site that dispenses $10 bills for a fee. Horse Derby is sometimes down for maintenance, so calling or texting ahead is a good idea. Hours change with the seasons and run longest in summer. The arcade sits at the base of Pikes Peak, about six miles from Colorado Springs.
