Mud City Crabhouse

Mud City Crab House is a seafood restaurant and fish market on the Manahawkin side of Long Beach Island, known for steamed blue claw crabs from a local crabber and its jumbo lump crab cakes. The menu runs from raw and fried oysters and steamed clams to cioppino, crab imperial stuffed flounder and pasta with fresh shellfish, with a Maryland-style option for whole crabs.

The restaurant is open Thursday through Tuesday, closed Wednesdays, starting at 11:30 AM, and it has a fish market and a catering service. Crabs are seasonal and come from Barnegat Bay, and the restaurant no longer allows BYOB, so drinks come from its cocktail, wine and beer list. Mud City is a stop on the bayside road of Bay Avenue, across Route 72 from Beach Haven West.
