IAM Local 1930

IAM Local 1930 is the union representing more than 3,500 City of Long Beach employees. It leads contract negotiations with the city, and its members have ratified a 2026-2029 tentative agreement that now goes to City Council for approval. Business representatives and stewards help members with workplace rights, and the local offers steward training and materials on Weingarten rights.

The union office is on West Broadway in Long Beach, and visitors can park at the Civic Center Parking Garage or use street parking nearby. Executive board and monthly membership meetings are held in Long Beach on weeknights from 6 to 8 PM. The local also holds occasional informational events at city worksites, such as Long Beach Utilities and City Hall, where members can meet stewards and ask about negotiations.
