Purpose-Built / Home of the Trades

Purpose-Built is a workwear shop in downtown Livermore for people in the trades, stocking work boots, work pants, flannels, outerwear, hard hats, safety gear and everyday carry items. The shop carries brands such as Carhartt, Dickies, Thorogood and Irish Setter, along with its own house brand, and work boots are the main draw.

Shoppers can walk in for a boot fitting without an appointment, and staff will bring out options across brands and toe types to compare. Hours run Monday through Friday 10 AM to 8 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 7 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. The shop sits at the west end of First Street, near several lunch spots, and a food truck is parked in its lot.
