Pick-your-own apples, blueberries and peaches in central Massachusetts582 George Hill Road, Lancaster, MA

George Hill Orchards is a family farm in Lancaster that the Siver family has run since 1974. Visitors pick their own apples, blueberries, peaches, nectarines and pumpkins, and the barn and farmhouse grille sell cider donuts, home-baked pies and pre-picked apples. The farm is also home to the Apple Tree Theater and the Tree-mendous Maze, which bring school field trips each year.
The farm is closed on Saturdays, and the fall season usually runs from early July through the first week of November, depending on weather. Calling ahead is the best way to check picking conditions. On Sundays in September and October there are pony rides, face painting, wagon rides and a petting zoo, with a small admission that is credited toward purchases. Weekdays have no entrance fee, and apple drops are available on weekday afternoons. Group outings can be arranged, and the orchard sits up the hill on the left side of George Hill Road.
