Rhino Builders

Rhino Builders is a general contractor and custom home builder in Lafayette, known for accessory dwelling units. Its core work includes ADU construction, backyard and multi-family ADUs, garage and JADU conversions, along with room additions, home extensions, kitchen and bath remodels, full-house remodels and ground-up custom homes. The company has been building since 1989.

A crew of about 30 handles most trades in-house, from foundation and framing through electrical, plumbing, roofing and finish, with trusted subcontractors brought in for some work. One project manager is the single point of contact, and the same team handles design, permit submissions and answers to plan-check corrections. Office hours are weekdays, and the company works with homeowners across the East Bay, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco and the Peninsula. Site assessments come before any design work begins.
