Texas Tradition

Texas Tradition serves Texas comfort food in old Katy, and its chicken fried steak is the dish it is best known for, with several awards to back it up. The menu also includes hand-pressed half-pound burgers, mac and cheese, and country gravy finished with a touch of bacon grease. Tex-Mex plates, fried and grilled catfish, shrimp, and steaks round out the list.

The room is small and casual, and the servers often know regulars by name and stop to chat. Dinners come with your choice of two sides and Texas toast. Call in to-go orders, and reserve ahead for parties of 10 or more. Kids' meals are for ages 10 and under. The restaurant is on Highway Boulevard in Katy.
