Kalona Golf Course is a semi-private 9-hole club that welcomes public golfers, with a course built in its current configuration in 1984. The course has greens of bent grass and fairways of blue grass and winter rye, with two ponds coming into play and many tree-lined fairways over rolling terrain. The club is a member of the Iowa Golf Association and affiliated with the USGA, and it has been named Iowa 9-hole course of the year twice, in 1984 and 2010.
Tee times can be booked online or by phone, and you can also call ahead. The course sits about 1.5 miles south of Kalona on Highway 1 in southeast Iowa. Golfers who want to check the current season's fees can find them on the club's website.
