Charlotte's Kitchen

Charlotte's Kitchen is a locally owned fast-casual restaurant known for fried chicken sandwiches, including the fan-favorite crab rangoon sandwich and Nashville hot version. The menu also covers grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, wraps, salads, tenders, thick milkshakes and sides such as cheese curds, loaded tots and Brussels sprouts. The recipes are inspired by founder Michael's grandmother Charlotte.

The restaurant has locations in Johnston, Indianola and Altoona, with a drive-thru in Altoona and a fourth location planned in Waukee. It is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and is closed Sundays. The food truck can be booked for events from April through September, and the team offers carry-out catering for offices and private parties.
