Electric arc furnace steel, joists and metals recycling5134 Loop Road, Jeffersonville, IN
Steel Dynamics is an industrial metals company that makes steel from recycled scrap in electric arc furnaces. Its steel operations produce flat-roll sheet, structural beams, rail, merchant bar and specialty steel sections, while its steel fabrication arm builds steel joists and deck for construction projects across the country. The company also runs a metals recycling network that collects ferrous and nonferrous scrap and sells it back to mills, and it is building out aluminum production.
Most of its products go to manufacturers, contractors and other businesses rather than walk-in customers, so the usual contact is through its sales divisions. The corporate office is in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the company lists divisions in several states, including Indiana, Texas, Virginia and Mississippi. Its circular manufacturing model relies on recycled scrap as the main input, and the company publishes greenhouse gas targets and certified low-carbon products.
