Gabriel House of Care

Gabriel House of Care is an independent nonprofit health hospitality facility that provides affordable lodging for adult cancer and transplant patients and their caregivers. Guests come from Mayo Clinic, UF Health Proton Institute, Baptist, the Ackerman Cancer Center and other medical facilities. The house also runs integrated therapy programs meant to reduce stress and support recovery.

Recovery from treatment or surgery can take several weeks to several months, so the house is built for guests who need to stay close to the hospital. It sits on the Mayo Clinic campus in Jacksonville and is smoke-free, with safe cleaning methods. Volunteers help at the front desk, in the kitchen and laundry, and with dinners, and the house hosts fundraisers such as an annual golf tournament.
