The Brown Dog Food & Spirits

The Brown Dog Food & Spirits is a tavern on Central Street in downtown Ipswich, open since 2017. The menu runs from wings, potato skins and chicken fingers to chili, New England clam chowder and deli-style sandwiches like a Reuben and a turkey club, with heartier plates such as baked scallops casserole, chicken pot pie and pan-seared salmon scampi.

The dining room seats 53 and has a full bar with locally sourced spirits, plus a curated wine and beer list, so it works for casual lunches, weeknight pints and longer dinners. Reservations and takeout orders go through the restaurant's phone line. Parking is on-street along Central Street, or in the Hammatt Street lot behind the building.
