Top Gear Auto

Top Gear Auto is an independent auto shop and used car seller in Iowa City, known for engine rebuilds and engine swaps for European and American vehicles. The shop also handles transmission swaps, performance modifications, oil changes, brake repair, scheduled maintenance and battery sales, and it offers free diagnostics with an estimate before any work starts.

The shop is family-owned and has been operating since 2020, with the owners doing much of the work themselves. Walk-ins are welcome for oil changes, and customers can arrange their own bank or credit union financing on used cars. The shop is at Willow Creek Drive in Iowa City, and it keeps Sunday hours in the late morning and early afternoon.
