Bread Garden Market

Bread Garden Market is a downtown Iowa City market that combines a grocery, a full-service deli, a bakery and a coffee shop under one roof. Its shelves carry artisan chocolate, heirloom beans and a large wine selection, with housemade hearth bread, soups, sandwiches, cold-pressed juice and gelato among the items made in-house. The deli stocks Boar's Head meats and cheeses, and the wine department offers over 800 wines along with wine tastings on Friday and Saturday afternoons.

The market is open daily from 6:30 AM to 9 PM and offers online ordering, delivery through DoorDash and Chomp, catering, and gift cards. It has its own parking off South Linn Street, and a first hour is free at the nearby Dubuque Street ramp. The store is on the Iowa City Pedestrian Mall, and it was founded in 1995 by local restaurateur Jim Mondanaro.
