Amelia's Bread

Amelia's Bread is a production bakery in downtown Indianapolis known for sourdough loaves made in the European tradition. Dough is fermented longer and at cooler temperatures than commercial yeasted bread, then hearth-baked and sold fresh off the rack. Seasonal pastries, espresso drinks and gourmet grocery items round out the offerings across its shops.

The Windsor Park location on Nowland Avenue has a bakery and coffee counter with indoor and outdoor seating. The Fletcher Place storefront carries the wider grocery selection, including local meats, cheeses and housemade deli items, with outdoor seating only. Online grocery orders are available, restaurants and grocers can stock the bread through wholesale orders placed at least 72 hours ahead, and gift certificates are sold.
