Big Tex Feed Hardware & Pet Supply

Big Tex Feed Hardware & Pet Supply is a family-owned feed and pet supply store in Houston that stocks livestock feed, pet food and supplies, pesticides, and lawn and garden equipment. Alongside the store, it runs a dog grooming salon with wash packages and basic styling, dog boarding and daycare, and obedience classes. Staff say they have decades of combined experience and can explain how new medicines and treatments work.

Grooming appointments can be booked online, and every dog needs an up-to-date rabies certificate before grooming. Boarding guests need Bordetella, rabies, and parvo vaccines, and owners are encouraged to bring their pet's food and familiar toys or blankets. A pop-up preventative care clinic offers vaccines, heartworm tests, and flea prevention in partnership with a local animal hospital. Phone orders can be delivered, and the store is open on Sundays. It sits on Holmes Road, a few minutes from the medical center and the University of Houston.
