Team Papakōlea Jiu-Jitsu

Team Papakōlea Jiu-Jitsu is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Honolulu teaching self-defense, grappling, ground fighting and submission techniques. The academy runs separate programs for kids, adults and families, with kids classes built around anti-bullying awareness, discipline, listening skills and personal safety. The school follows the traditional Relson Gracie approach and was founded in January 2005 by Professor Kaleo Auwae, a 6th Degree Black Belt.

No prior experience is needed and the academy offers a free trial class. Kids classes generally start at age 5. The academy has two Honolulu locations, one in Papakōlea and one in Kakaʻako, and it offers family membership plans. Membership is listed at roughly $120 to $200 a month, and class times are set by contacting the academy directly.
