Sonny's Service & Repair

Sonny's Service & Repair handles maintenance and repairs for large commercial vehicles and heavy equipment, including trucks, buses and forklifts. The shop offers DOT inspections with three inspectors on staff, on-site welding and metal fabrication, truck body work, and gas siphoning. The business has been operating since 1986 and describes itself as family-owned and locally owned.

DOT inspections require the registration, insurance, VIC card and USDOT number, and the vehicle must be present. Bus inspections are limited to 16 passengers including the driver. Gas siphoning is a flat $100, and customers must supply an OSHA-approved gas can to keep the fuel. Sonny's is on Makepono Street in Honolulu, and Saturday work is by appointment only.
