Sako Electric HI

Sako Electric HI rewinds and repairs electric motors and generators, from small AC and DC units to large industrial machines running from 110 volts up to 7,200 volts. Work includes armature and field coil rewinding, cleaning and measuring machined parts, and dynamic balancing of rotors, impellers and turbines, with testing on calibrated equipment. The shop follows EASA and Mil Spec standards for military-grade jobs.

The business was founded in 1971 by Sarkis Hovsepian in a small Kakaako shop and later moved to Kalihi, where it operates today. It is locally owned and run by the family, with his son Mark now carrying on the work. Customers can request a free exploratory inspection, where the motor is disassembled at no charge so the report and price are firm before repairs begin. Emergency service is available around the clock every day of the year, while the office keeps weekday hours.
