Gold Post

Gold Post is a locally owned sandwich house that has been run by the Lowry family since 1971. It is known for New Orleans style po'boys made on French bread shipped from New Orleans, with roast beef, ham, fried chicken and shrimp options, plus burgers, hot sandwiches and a range of plate lunches.

Soups, gumbo, salad dressings and red beans are made from scratch, and the recipes have not changed since the doors first opened. Daily specials rotate through shrimp gumbo and red beans and rice, and the kitchen also handles catering orders. The restaurant is on Hardy Street in Hattiesburg and is open from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays.
