Harvard Lanes

Harvard Lanes is a 14-lane candlepin bowling alley that has operated since 1950. Candlepin uses smaller balls and pins than tenpin, and players get three rolls per frame, with fallen pins often used to knock down more. The alley recently added new lanes, pins, balls and fresh paint, along with a cafe seating area serving pizza, chicken fingers, and cold beer, cider and seltzer.

Walk-in bowling is available, with weekday rates lower than weekend ones, and shoes and balls are provided, so no equipment is needed. Leagues run weeknights, with a senior league on Tuesday mornings. Birthday parties, company outings and fundraisers can be booked by email. Tuesday mornings include a sensory-free bowling time with no music or televisions. The alley is at 204 Ayer Road in Harvard.
