The Academy of Dance

The Academy of Dance & Gymnastics teaches ballet, pre-ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre and gymnastics to students of all ages. The studio has been working with young people for 45 years, using dance and gymnastics to build confidence, goal setting and teamwork. It is known for its competition dance team and has won 10 national championships and the Top Studio of the Year title three times.

Classes run from beginners to advanced dancers, and the faculty focuses on personal attention in gymnastics as well as dance. Families can register in person at any of the four studios in Hampton, Newport News, Yorktown and Williamsburg, online, or by calling the office. Staff say they want students to leave with poise, grace and self-discipline as well as technique.
