Flote

Flote is a wellness center known for floatation therapy, a sensory deprivation practice done in an enclosed pod filled with a foot of water and Epsom salt. Alongside floating, it offers massage in styles including deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal and cupping, plus craniosacral therapy, acupuncture, naturopathic medicine and infrared sauna. The Hampton center opened in 2018 as the first float center on the Seacoast.

Owners Catherine Markovsky and Dr. Margaux French run the business. The Hampton location has three float suites, five treatment rooms and a wellness studio used for classes and workshops. Memberships and gift cards are available, and appointments can be booked online. A second location on Islington Street in Portsmouth offers floating, infrared sauna and massage.
