Whitneyville Cultural Commons

Whitneyville Cultural Commons is a nonprofit community resources center in a historic church building on Whitney Avenue. It rents event venues for performances, family gatherings and classes, along with office and coworking space for individuals and small teams. The group was started in 2015 and took over the historic Whitneyville United Church of Christ property, which it now runs as a self-sustaining community space.

Spaces are booked through a request form, and pricing, tours and availability all go through that form rather than by phone alone. Equipment is included in the rental rates. The building has parking in front and sits in the Whitneyville section of Hamden, with a regular calendar of public events including yoga classes and blood drives.
