Western Maryland Consortium Workforce Alliance

The Western Maryland Consortium Workforce Alliance is a regional workforce development agency serving residents of Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties. It was formed in 1974 through an agreement among the boards of county commissioners of those three counties, and it is funded under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

The agency offers career guidance, resume writing, case management, skill training, testing and evaluation, and job search preparation, plus a resource lab with internet access and phone lines. Services are aimed at unemployed or underemployed adults, young adults and dislocated workers. Young adults are asked to call to determine eligibility and pathway. The agency has offices in Hagerstown, Cumberland and McHenry.
