Outdoor Design & Living

Outdoor Design & Living is a landscape design firm in Fairfield that plans and builds outdoor spaces meant to feel as comfortable as a living room. Its work covers landscape and hardscape design, outdoor kitchens and fire pits, outdoor furniture, and container gardening, with yard maintenance for existing gardens. Founded in 1994 by Chris Palmer, the firm starts each project with a meeting with its design team.

Clients usually begin by talking through their vision, lifestyle and taste with the designers before a concept is drawn up. The firm works out of The Barn in Fairfield, where the floral studio Fresh Flower Bar shares the space. Seasonal events and workshops run through the year, from fall pumpkin displays to winter holiday decor, and the store carries trees and shrubs.
