Grover Beach Sourdough

Grover Beach Sourdough is a bakery and café known for its traditional fermented sourdough, buttermilk biscuits and brown butter cookies. The menu adds breakfast sandwiches, a farm vegetable hash, an open-faced tuna melt and a roast chicken plate, along with seasonal soups, house sodas and a short list of wines and beers served in mason jars. The bread is made with certified organic flours and grains.

The bakery is open Thursday through Monday from 8 AM to 2 PM, and it may close early if it sells out, so earlier visits are safest. Orders are taken at the counter and the menu includes stacks of sourdough loaves to take home. It sits at 236 West Grand Ave. in Grover Beach, across the street from the bakery's sister restaurant, The Spoon Trade.
