Briar Patch Ranch for Kids

Briar Patch Ranch for Kids is an alternative school for K-12 students who struggle to focus or succeed in a traditional classroom, including kids facing academic or behavior challenges. Set on a 16-acre working farm, the program mixes classroom work with farm life, so students learn through hands-on projects, chores and collaborative lessons. The aim is a high school diploma or a return to a less restrictive school setting, with graduation requirements set by the state of Ohio.

The program runs year round and includes classrooms, a computer lab and a workshop alongside the farm. It has worked with at-risk youth since 2011. The school also holds a holiday market where students sell handmade goods, with a share of purchases supporting the students. It is located in Groveport, Ohio.
