The Alamance County Landfill is the county's solid waste facility off Austin Quarter Road in Graham. It takes commercial and industrial garbage, large loads of residential trash, construction and demolition debris, brush and yard waste, metal, and tires. Loads are weighed on scales to determine the charge.

Bagged household garbage and recyclables go to the separate Recycling and Convenience Center, which keeps longer hours on weekdays and is open on Sunday afternoons. Landfill and scale hours are shorter, and heavier materials are accepted only during scale operating hours. Disposal is limited to waste generated in Alamance County.
