Backwoods Venue 222

Backwoods Venue 222 is a event venue set up for weddings, reunions, baby showers, proms and other celebrations. The building was erected in 1968 as the Platte Purchase Antique Barn, and it has a 30-foot waterfall drapery, two balconies, 22 rooms, a north patio with overhead lighting, a garden leading to a trappers lodge, and a restored windmill. The main room seats up to 300 guests at tables and chairs.

The venue rents by the weekend or by the day, and the owner and event coordinator, Aimee Andrews, helps with planning sessions. Clients can bring their own vendors, including caterers, bartenders and DJs, since the venue has an open vendor policy. Parking is free and unlimited, and bridal suites are available for overnight stays. The venue is located southeast of Gower, Missouri, between Kansas City and St. Joseph.
