Student-run dental hygiene cleanings and low-cost dental care21765 Nanticoke Ave., Georgetown, DE
Delaware Tech's Dental Health Center is an educational clinic that supports the college's Dental Hygiene program and offers reduced-cost dental care to the community. Dental hygiene students handle new patient visits and cleanings, along with oral exams, fluoride treatments, custom athletic mouth guards and bleaching trays. Licensed dentists and dental residents provide fillings, crowns and bridges, dentures, extractions, root canals and periodontal care.
Patients who qualify for the financial assistance program pay reduced rates based on household income and size, and the clinic also serves people referred through certain public agencies. Dental emergencies are scheduled with a dentist, and emergency visits have set fees. Appointments are made by phone, and the clinic is on the Wilmington campus on Orange Street downtown. Patients who don't qualify for assistance are referred to private dental offices.
